We want to keep you informed on the latest information available regarding the COVID-19 booster vaccination.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ (ACOG) issued a Practice Advisory with COVID-19 vaccines and guidance for their use in pregnant, recently pregnant, and nonpregnant individuals. It has been updated to include the following:
- ACOG recommends that pregnant and recently pregnant people up to 6 weeks postpartum, including pregnant and recently pregnant health care workers, receive a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine following the completion of their initial COVID-19 vaccine or vaccine series.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) as well as the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine (SFMFM) also recommend COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots for pregnant and lactating women.
As always, please feel free to speak with your clinician at your next visit if you have any questions or concerns.
