Restore Your Facial Volume

Aging causes facial volume loss from bone degradation, muscle atrophy and fat resorption. Over time, our faces transform from a plump grape into a wrinkled raisin. Fortunately, new dermal fillers can help provide a more youthful and natural appearance.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are used to lift and plump areas of the face that have lost volume or support. HA is a naturally occurring lubricant in our bodies. We have it in our skin, cartilage, joints and eyes. When injected it acts as gentle cushions that attract water, making the skin more fresh and supple. Restoring volume with HA fillers offers non invasive facial rejuvenation with no downtime.

The average HA filler injection takes about 30 minutes. To ease discomfort, numbing cream and ice are often used, as well as numbing in the syringe of filler itself. Each syringe of filler is 1cc or 1ml. During a treatment one to three syringes are often used to achieve optimal results or correction. Results are evident immediately, although you may have some swelling that can last as long as 3 days.

Side effects from HA filler injection are typically short lived. Bruising is always a risk with injections so stay away from anit-inflammatories such as Ibuprofen, Motrin, Aspirin or Aleve before your treatment since they can increase your risk for bleeding or bruising.

HA fillers last any where from 6 months to 2 years. The area injected can affect the length of effectiveness. In areas of the face with the most movement, such as around the mouth, the filler will be absorbed faster. Other areas such as under the eye or into the tear trough where less movement occurs, the filler will last longer.
