If you are sexually active, testing for sexually transmitted diseases is essential to your health. STD screening can be tested through blood work, urine, vaginal swab, or Pap test.
What screening can be done by urine?
Chlamydia and Gonorrhea (This can also be added to your pap smear.)
What screening can be done by vaginal swab?
Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Trichomoniasis
What screening can be done through blood work?
Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV, and syphilis
How can I screen for herpes 1 or 2?
The best way to screen is by swabbing when symptomatic. Blood testing is not recommended for screening.
