In 2012, the American Academy of Pediatrics released a position statement regarding circumcision. You can read the statement here. For additional circumcision resources, please visit the American Academy of Pediatrics Parenting Website, healthychildren.org
Circumcision is typically performed in the hospital by one of our physicians on the day after delivery. Our physicians use a numbing cream and local anesthetic.
If you want your son circumcised, tell your health care provider ahead of time. If you prefer to do the circumcision as part of a religious ceremony at home, please also inform your provider.
We recommend checking with your insurance provider about coverage.
